The DogDonor.com site can serve many different geographic regions.  It would make no sense to offer the veterinarian a potential donor 100 miles away.

So, we need to ask you to pick your region so the rest of the site will work appropriately.

To do this your browser must be able to:

• Run JavaScript
• Allow a cookie

The DogDonor.com site will not run properly in browsers with JavaScript and/or Cookies disabled.

JavaScript is designed to perform little tasks on your computer.  We use JavaScript to make sure a visitor has selected a region before registering their dog or managing their registration.

"JavaScript" is easily confused with the far more powerful "Java".  The biggest difference is that JavaScript is can't go running around in your computer files.  JavaScript is deliberately made a safe as possible and as a result most browsers allow JavaScript by default.

Generally the browser setting you need to adjust is part of the "Security" settings in Tools/Options.

The best bet is to search the Internet for the most current information about your browser settings.  Here are a few resources we found when writing this page:

Cookies are extremely small files that the browser keeps on your computer for use by only the server that issued the cookie.  In our case we have a cookie that contains only the region you selected.

The nice part about using a cookie is that we don't have to start every page by asking "What region are you interested in?".

Cookies are generally considered benign and most browsers allow cookies by default.

You can permit your browser to allow cookies — most browsers will even let you limit permission to specific sites such as DogDonor.com.
